Accountability Counsel advocates for independent, fair, transparent, accessible, and effective accountability offices. We advocate for the creation of new accountability offices where they do not yet exist. We feed the policy lessons from our cases into our advocacy for change. Learn more about our Policy approach here.
In less than a decade, our policy work has improved the policies and practices of every multilateral development bank and four U.S. federal agencies that engage with the private sector. We have also been instrumental in the establishment of two new accountability offices for projects financed through United Nations programs and treaties.
Our latest work advocates for accountability tools for impact investing, climate finance, and Chinese overseas finance.
