Sheridan Macy

Sheridan recently graduated law school at the University of Pennsylvania where she participated in Jessup International Moot Court, served as Comments Editor for the Journal of International Law,  did pro bono work for the Environmental Law Project, and interned at Esperanza Immigration Legal Services, serving low-income Philadelphia communities. Through her work with these extracurriculars and previous position at the Center for International Environmental Law, Sheridan was inspired to develop a strategic plan for an Environmental Rights Amendment (Green Amendment) for her home state of Nebraska. She is continuing this work alongside local organizers to introduce the constitutional amendment into the state legislature and to push for a ballot initiative which would add it to the state’s constitution. Sheridan is passionate about local government, especially as relates to climate change adaptation and mitigation efforts, as well as environmental justice and conservation of biodiversity. She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska in History, Political Science, and Global Studies. She loves science fiction and romance novels, painting, and playing with her two cats, Birb and Tortor.
