Avalon Bauman

Research Fellow

As a Fulbright-Garcia Robles grantee based out of Mexico City, Avalon investigates the role of independent accountability mechanisms in climate mitigation projects in Mexico. She recently received her Master of Public Policy from UC Berkeley, studying how policy can be used to accelerate a just transition through coursework in policy analysis, quantitative research methods, program evaluation, economics, and data science.

During policy school, Avalon worked at Accountability Counsel as a research fellow, contributing to outcomes research and case studies with a focus on Latin America. Prior to graduate school, Avalon worked in conservation content development, digital marketing, and language education. She speaks fluent Spanish and is learning French, Portuguese and Zapotec.
