Ahmed A. Abonamah

Ahmed A. Abonamah is an accomplished finance and legal expert with extensive experience in both public and private sectors. He is currently Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Rock Entertainment Group and the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers where he oversees all financial operations of the franchise and a variety of other sports and entertainment brands. Previously, Ahmed served as the Chief Financial Officer and Director of the Department of Finance for the City of Cleveland, overseeing the city’s capital and operating budgets, tax collections, and financial reporting, while managing over 300 professionals across 13 divisions. Prior to joining the City of Cleveland, Ahmed held leadership roles at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), including Director of the Office of Credit Ratings, where he led critical regulatory initiatives in the financial markets. A graduate of Case Western Reserve School of Law (J.D.) and the University of Dayton (B.A.), Ahmed’s career reflects a deep commitment to fiscal responsibility, regulatory oversight, and public service.
