Data & Machine Learning Specialist

Poojit first joined Accountability Counsel as an intern in 2021, and he more recently joined Accountability Counsel in October 2025 as a Data and Machine Learning Specialist.

Poojit graduated from Stanford with a B.S. in Mathematical and Computational Science, Honors in Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity, and a M.S. in Computer Science. During his time as a student, Poojit worked across various interdisciplinary social domains. As a research assistant and BioX Fellow at Stanford Genome Technology Center, he designed technology for the automatic classification of erythrocytes for disease diagnosis. As a Race and Tech Fellow at Stanford Center for Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity, he studied trends in the coverage of Asian Americans in news media. As a Stanford Data Science for Social Good Fellow, he evaluated the use of machine learning on satellite imagery for the estimation of maternal and child health indicators. As a leader of Stanford Asian American Actions Committee, Poojit dedicated himself to building a resilient community of confident and conscious students capable of responding to pressing issues of our times.

When he is not working on research and data-based solutions for international finance accountability, Poojit enjoys being an educator, dedicating time weekly as a math and computer science instructor. Poojit is also an avid reader of history, creative non-fiction, and poetry. He also enjoys going on walks, cooking food with friends, and playing with his dog Minchu.
