“We are seeking community-led accountability:” Interview with Accountability Counsel’s Margaux Day
A lawyer and a well-known figure in the field of accountability, Margaux Day became Accountability Counsel’s Executive Director in February 2024. Having served as the organization’s policy director for four years, she is now charting an ambitious course to fulfill Accountability Counsel’s aim to advocate for people harmed by internationally financed projects as they seek justice. She recently talked with Accountability Matters about her vision and the challenges ahead for accountability mechanisms. It is clear that communities impacted by investments remain central to achieving this vision. “The question of what accountability means has a multi-faceted answer, and it must be answered by those who are most impacted,” she explained.
