Accountability Counsel Raises Concerns about EBRD’s Hiring Process for Key Accountability Position
Accountability Counsel and partner civil society organizations sent a letter to the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) expressing concerns about the hiring process for the EBRD’s Project Complaint Mechanism (PCM) Officer position. The PCM Officer is responsible for the overall, day-to-day operations of the PCM, which assesses and reviews complaints from communities that are negatively affected by Bank-financed projects. The EBRD has excluded civil society from the hiring process. Read more about how the process threatens to undermine the independence, credibility, and effectiveness of the mechanism here.
