Issue Areas
Accountability offices offer a powerful way for local communities to be heard and press for change as they experience a range of human rights and environmental impacts from global financial flows. From addressing misuse of climate finance, to helping see abuse of children, these tools that we specialize in create visibility and change.
While we describe these issues separately, it is important to recognize that communities live at multiple intersections of violence. For example, Indigenous women are increasingly vulnerable, and can experience both environmental abuse and sexual exploitation. At Accountability Counsel, we work to ensure that communities are heard and receive remedy for harm regardless of their race, culture, gender identity, age, disability, citizenship status, place of origin, sexual orientation, religion, and other marginalized identities.
