Africa-focused Law Fellows will primarily support Accountability Counsel’s collaboration with clients based in Africa on accountability office complaints and the development of resource materials for communities and advocates. Africa law fellows will work with the Communities Associate, Africa and be responsible for legal research assignments and fact memos. They may also participate in meetings with community members, international institutions, and NGO colleagues as opportunities arise.

Applicants are requested to have relevant work experience and/or an academic background in at least some of the areas in which we work: international law; development and economics; public policy; and environmental and human rights. Applicants are required to have excellent communication, research, writing, and critical thinking skills.

We accept applications from current law students and graduate students and recent graduates (within one year of graduation). Please note that law students are expected to have finished at least two years of university study and graduate students are expected to have finished at least one year of study in a related field before the fellowship begins. Fellows must have their own computer to use during the fellowship. Financial support may be available on request.
