Veena Mohan is a recent graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she double majored in Sustainable Community Development and Communications. She grew up in several cities in Southeast Asia and currently resides in Western Massachusetts. At UMass Amherst, she served as Treasurer for Massachusetts Cares About Cancer, a student club focused on fundraising for pediatric cancer research and services. She also volunteered at the Freedom Cafe, a nonprofit cafe that donated 100% of its profits to help victims of human trafficking. She is deeply passionate about issues at the intersection of social justice and climate change, and she hopes to be a part of the effort to create a more just and sustainable world. In her free time, Veena enjoys painting, hiking, cooking, and writing fiction.
