Sumaya Hussaini is a progressive degree student at the University of Southern California pursuing a Master’s in Public Diplomacy, majoring in Political Science, and minoring in International Relations. On campus, she is a team lead at the Security and Political Economy Lab for a research project that assesses foreign aid allocation in conflict-affected areas. She is also a correspondent for Glimpse from the Globe, a digital foreign affairs publication. Sumaya has previously interned for the Permanent Mission of Afghanistan to the United Nations and USC’s Center for the Political Future, while also volunteering for Islamic Relief to fundraise for disaster relief. Sumaya is passionate about studying sustainable development, foreign policy, and gender equality. In her free time, she enjoys reading, hiking, and spending time with her cat.
